WORSHIP PASTOR

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Role: Help people connect with God through passionate, current, high-quality worship.

Essential Responsibilities:

Lead band practices that provide effective band and vocal training. Lead worship at Centerpoint Church a.m. services.
Schedule team members in advance.
Be hungry to learn and grow through books, podcasts, mentors, etc. Help team members grow stronger spiritually and musically.

Help with other creative areas of the church (production, media, etc) Develop new band members and singers
Maintain and manage up to date information on Planning Center.

  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing relationship with Jesus

  • Driven to meet deadlines and do so with excellence.

  • Strong leadership ability

  • Stewards well what you have - body, time, family, finances, office, car, etc.

  • Willingness to continuously learn and grow

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge of music theory, instrumental arrangements, and harmonies - Be humble with a heart to serve others

  • Supports and adheres to the statement of faith, mission, and core values of Centerpoint Church

  • Believes that Christians can be Spirit-filled and Spirit-led

  • Actively participates in Centerpoint services, groups, and events

  • Is a team player and willing to help with other areas of ministry

  • Is willing to tweak or change their ministry role as needed

  • Good chemistry with pastor and staff

Every team leader at Centerpoint should do these four things:

1. Enlist -  Share the vision to help people understand the part they can play in the story. Usually, one on one, face to face recruiting is most effective.

2. Equip - Meet with your team at least once a month. Communicate details often. Make sure they have good tools. Model culture. Reproduce yourself.

3. Encourage - Recognize, reward, give shoutouts, cards, texts…Pray with them. Also encourage them to show up, be on time, use good judgement, etc.

4. Empower - Give them authority to oversee parts of the ministry. Let them schedule, organize, make decisions, solve problems.
